It is just one day on
It seems too long
Since I saw you
Looking forlorn

Your face was so sad
Your eyes were red
The pain you felt
In stomach and head

A tough thing to do

I want to cuddle by your side
I need your breath close by
Before the night has to fly

Until we know this is forever
Around our friends it’s like whatever
We will be patient and calm
To minimise for others any harm

When we say goodnight
We will put on a nonchalant show
Keeping the depth of feeling
Hidden until private revealing

In your room just down the hall
I will worship you and give you love
Wrap you in a cocoon of warmth

So let me be with you tonight
I want to cuddle by your side
I want to smell your perfume
within the solace of your room

I know that you I can’t own

Only 6 more sleeps
I miss her heaps
She fills my mind
Like fruit on a vine

Just 5 more sleeps
Rolling in the deep
Adele is signing
My heart is yearning

Sleeps are now but four
Nerves are raw
It will all come in a rush
Sleep now baby – hush

Three more nights
Til you’re in my sight
Beautiful as the sea
Smiling back at me

Sleep twice and I’m there
With growing fear
That something will have changed
Or being together can’t be arranged

However I know that the bond
Can be strong
If given time and togetherness
We can be friends or more

From 24 days now it’s 24 hours
